Why we exist
An appointment, a job application, a conversation with family: more of everyday life now happens through a screen. That can bring freedom and convenience. It can also leave people feeling unsure where to begin.
Technology changes quickly. The opportunity to learn, access a suitable device or afford a connection does not always keep up. We exist to help bridge that gap.
What we do
We explain everyday technology in plain language, create practical educational resources and aim to develop community support that starts with what people actually need. Our work brings together digital skills, online safety and independent connectivity guidance.
Who we support
Our resources are for older people, families, young people, vulnerable adults and anyone finding digital services difficult. We also want to help community organisations support the people they know best. You do not have to fit a particular label to use our guides.
How we work
We start by listening. We break tasks into manageable steps, make space for questions and support people to make their own informed decisions. We aim to work with communities rather than assume one approach will suit everyone.
Our values
Respect means never judging someone for what they do not yet know. Inclusion means considering cost, disability, language and access. Independence means putting the person’s needs ahead of commercial interests.
Our independence
Viora Foundation is being developed as a charitable organisation with a distinct public purpose. Our educational guidance must remain impartial. A relationship with a telecommunications business must never determine the advice someone receives.
Looking ahead
Our next steps are to establish the governance, partnerships and practical programmes needed to deliver this mission responsibly. Confirmed organisational information and evidence of our work will be published as they become available.
A little guidance can make a big difference.
Take the next step at your own pace. Our guides are a good place to start.
